Default mini steps

i made an error over the weekend and joined a mini-step sng instead of a regular one. i came in at the 50 level and got lucky a couple of times and have an entry for step 5. should i wait for the weekend when there are more fish? or do all you sharks do the same thing?

i do NOT want to be playing you people, so do i play now, or wait?

screw them. they won't answer me.

but ty for the advice. do you know how these play? do they start off super tight?

i guess my best bet is to sit on the rail of a couple during the week, then over the weekend.

i would play tight early on and get looser as more people are eliminate/blinds increase. i am not sure how the payouts are in mini steps but i am guessing first gets a lot more in comparisn to other spots so play for first once it gets down to bubble time.

mattering on how long your entry is good for I think your plan of railbirding is probably best.

So at what point do you actually get any money in this step thing?

I routinely buy directly into these at Step 5.
The usual mix is about 70% regulars (those former 200$ sngoers doing the same thing) and 30% those qualifying.
I think they play basically like a 200$ sng with the occasional fish just giving their chips away.

the payouts are not bad. i'm thinking that bullying a bit earlier, while a gamble if i run into a real hand, may be the way to finish higher.
