a WSOP Step 5 hand
10 handed, 25-50, table is pretty tight
I have 845 and black 77 utg+1 and for some reason i limp. next six have auto fold on and the button limps. both blinds are in. 4 way action. Q82 two [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Checked to me and I bet 125 into a pot of 200. Only the SB calls. Turn is an offsuit 7. He checks (has me covered). I have 690 left and I bet 275 into a pot of 450. He tanks and finally calls. River is an offsuit 5. He checks. I have 390 left and there is 1,000 in the pot. What's my play? thanks much P.S. the river is all i'm interested in. TIA |

Re: a WSOP Step 5 hand
I'd move allin. It seems like a spot where he either has something to call you or he has nothing. If he has a queen there is almost zero chance he folds on the river with 1k in the pot, especially as there is some possibility you were on a draw.
I admit that it doesn't seem like he has a queen or an eight, but if he was just drawing you probably won't make anything no matter what you bet. |

Re: a WSOP Step 5 hand
You aren't considering checking behind are you? A smaller bet seems too suspiciuos you are much better of betting all in then any other size.

Re: a WSOP Step 5 hand
I would consider checking behind, He might have been calling with 6 4 of clubs, he may not have hit his flush but hit a straight on the river. Just a thought.

Re: a WSOP Step 5 hand
If you would consider checking behind here, you have tremendous flaws in your poker game. You can't be scared of every card, and if villian hit the river they would almost surely bet themselves. To expect an opponent playing in 2k event to check a made hand on the river when the pot has 1k in it and your opponent has 400 chips, is insane, because you know your opponent is going to call with almost anything, but might not bet anything on the river. |

Re: a WSOP Step 5 hand
Maybe I'm missing something, but didn't you hit your set on the turn? This isn't a real question, right?
