Default QJs flopped trips, ok to go for overcalls?

MP1 is very loose and a little aggressive, Button is LAGish. I called the flop expecting a rise from the Button so I could hopefully make it 3 on the flop but that didn't happen, on the turn I thought a rise will make everyone fold, ok to go with the overcalls or bad play? Thanks for your comments.

I'm raising the flop. There could be gutshot draws, or even open enders out there. Plus someone might pick up a good draw on the turn. Definitely raise the turn.

I think there's too many draws on this board to let it go without a raise. Like, on the flop and turn.

Also the pot is too large to worry about getting extra bets in, you want to maximize your chances of winning it.

Anyone else like a raise preflop?

Good point as well.

I usually raise this PF, especially if Button is LAG.

Raising is a good option but I have no problem with limping often. Another limper and I'm raising a lot more.

Thanks for the comments, I'm new at 1/2 and I've noticed I'm playing less straightforward and a bit more passive, probably because I'm only playing 2 tables instead of 4 I used to play at 0.5/1 and that gives me more time to think about other plays... It's probably time to reread SSH again.

I raise the flop, you'll get plenty of overcold calls, don't worry.

good point!
I was sitting here thinking id probably call flop too but be worried depending on turn..and of course raise turn. But, you're right..anyone with pair will probably call, str8 draws, maybe Ace high, and 9x as well (A9, K9)

thanks for pointing this out!

I raise the turn, I don't want people trying to catch the straight if they have QT or KQ or something along those lines. You're in a great position obviously, but sometimes it's beeter to try and get sopme people out while pumping the pot.
