Default $1000 LHE, WPF

From the close but no cigar files...

We were down to 8 players at the final table of today's $1000 Limit Holdem Event at the WPF (81 entries, T$162,000 in play) when two things went wrong for me.

#1 Two tiny stacks, each with less than T$4000 (blinds $1000-$1500, level $1500-$3000) go on an unbelievable succession of all-in successes against the tables' two large stacks (T$25,000 & $28,000). In the course of 45 minutes, they survive no less than a dozen all-in affairs. The situation repeating itself over and over, as they are first getting blinded away only to be doubling-up all-in, again and again and again. The consecutive all-in successes were truly amazing, as the 9-seat honestly survived nearly ten all-ins. Both players refused to bust-out and were able to build to an average stack, roughly $T15,000, leaving the table fairly even at 10:00pm.

#2 In the course of 2 of 3 hands, I had the honor of manning the 1-seat as the 10-seat, a solid-agressive young player, raised to $3000 with the following two holdings...A4o and AQs. Respectively, I held the dream as I raised to $4,500 in each instance...
AKo vs. the A4o, and AA vs the AQs. With T$18,000, BAM, BIGTIME fav, right!?!

Nope...first flop came 442. Second flop came with two small hearts and a river h busted me out in 8th, $2580.
Well, at least I went out as a huge favorite! (like that helps one bit) Peace.

Big Ben

I doubt it! But fill me in on your screen name and we'll see if you're right.

Default LOL

*LOL* Have to admit, there are times when I hand out some beats in the low-limits at Pokerstars between tourneys.
Not for nothing, but playing $40-80 to $150-300 kind of leaves me a bit loose for $.50-$1.00 Pokerstars games, lol.
They are fun before the tourneys start though. So, you would be? Peace.
