Laptop 1900x1200 => Experience with 15.4\" and 17\" screen sizes?
The Dell 6000 doesnt have 1600x1200 resolution as an option. Only 1680x1050 or 1900x1200.
and only 1 screen size, which is 15.4" the only reason i'm buying the laptop is to 4 table while sitting at starbucks for 6hrs. (coffee is cheaper than turning on the A/C at home in the hot afternoon.) For those of you that have a 15.4" screen and are running 1900x1200, how does everything look? Or do you recommend finding a laptop that does either: 1) 1600x1200 on 15.4" 2) 1900x1200 on 17" |

I just got my 6000 today, and so far it's great. I have it set to 1920x1200 right now. Stars 4table looks good. I'm having an issue w/ Eurobet (borders around the table causing overlap) that I'm not quite sure why it's happening, but it's probably just an isolated issue. I'd say go for it if it's in the price range.

Dude, seriously relax.
On the 1900x1200 6000 you can adjust the settings to 1600x1200. You don't use all of the screen (there is a little black space on the left and right side) but the tables are bigger than at the 19xx x12xx setting. busguy |

I got my Dell 6000 today with 1920 x 1200 as well. Only difference is I'm running at 96dpi instead of the 120dpi.
120dpi doesn't mess up everything, but it does mess up the Party tables. |

Just ordered one for a friend's bday. How is it for non-poker use? He'll primarily be using it for work-related tasks like email and wp. Would text be incredibly hard to read? I'm jealous of his 1900x1200, but i'm hoping he won't be jealous of MY 1200x800

It'll be fine, the laptops default to 120dpi. If that's still too small, you can get this program called EyeRelief:

The 6000 at 1900x1200 rocks for 4 tabling. Not really worth the extra cash for the 17inch if you are just playing poker. You will be happy with teh 15.4 widescreen. You will have no overlap and you will have extra room to use IM, etc.

I'm already jealous of him.... now I'm gonna have to get a 9300 just to show him up. Anyone know wtf the difference is b/n the 9300 & XPS?? Only thing I could find was 6800ultra vs. 6800, and I think it could take a higher processor. Other than that it seemed like you're paying 4 hundo for a cooler looking case. Thoughts? Freakin |
