Default -210 BB first attemp 10/20 ( 6 max)

Hi, I don't post to much, but I had to post this. I never thought I'd post something like this.

I started playing poker 1 year ago at paradise 0.02/0.04 with a 50 $ deposit and slowly moved up till 10/20, a lot of this improvement is thanks to a lot of 2+2 posts which I've read over and over again.

My 5/10 ( 6 max ) stats look like this:

38k hands and

VPIP: 23.27
VPIP SB: 36.01
FOLDED SB TO STEAL: 89.79
FOLDED BB TO STEAL: 60.56
ATT. TO STEAL BLINDS: 31.58
WON $ WHEN SAW FLOP: 43.59
WENT TO SHOWDOWN: 36.02
WON $ AT SHOWDOWN: 52.40
PF RAISE: 14.44
BB/100: 2.23

I don't think i'm doing anything different at 10/20, maybe I am a little more agressive. What adjustments will I have to make, I've noticed that people never fold and raise and 3 bet much more.

This -210 BB downswing has been durind a bit more than 6k hands.

Also how often are these -200 often, I'm used to -100 or a little more every week or more, but this one is bigger and at a higher level so this one really hurts. I play between 8k and 10k hands ever week.

PD: This post is serious, help me recover my confidence

200BB downswings at 6max are not uncommon. If you were a 2+bb/100 winner at 5/10 you can expect to be a winner at 10/20. Make sure you have sufficient bankroll (I would say 500BB+ is best, nothing wrong with 1000BB either.) Keep grinding and playing as you normally do.

Most of all dont let the thought of losing 4k come into your head as you try to recover from your downswing as it will only cause tilt and bad play, which will lose you more money.

Not that I play 10/20, but what about moving back down to 5/10. Even if for a few days. Have a few winning sessions, make up for some of the losses and most of all get that confidence back. It seems like you know how to win, but with a streak like you're on, you may have lost the confidence you need. Not everything is a bad bet...

Exactly, move back to 5/10, where the retards are (in a way) more retarded and correct play is more straightforward. Win a few hundred BB, get your confidence back, and when you are ready move back up to 10/20 and take another shot.

There is no shame in taking one step backwards in order to take two steps forward later. And there is no use in playing in a game if you have lost your confidence that you can beat that game. I recently took a shot at 10/20, had a really bad run of cards, and moved back to 5/10 to regain my confidence. There's nothing wrong with this.

Of course if you feel you are still playing your A-Game and you have another 500+BB at 10/20, there's nothing wrong with staying. But there's nothing wrong with moving back down temporarily either.

Above all make sure you don't do anything to endanger your entire bankroll, that is the cardinal sin.

Downswings are dependent on your winrate. If u won 3BB/100 at 5/10 and 1.75BB/100 at 10/20 u will have much bigger swings in BB at 10/20.

Playing without confidence is impossible. Move down, play full tables or wait a few days untill u think u can beat the game again.

why did u post your $5/$10 stats when the problem is with your $10/$20 game.

I know you only played 6k hands, and that in itself is very few and playing as much as you have it seems you have been long overdue a decent downswing, so after you come out you'll be all the more experienced and take the next possibly bigger downswing in your stride.

Compare your 2 sets of stats, see where the differences lie, and think why?

I was beating 5/10 for almost 3BB/100 over a billion hands. When I moved up I dropped around 300 BB over 40k hands in a month of playing 4+ hours a day. 10/20 is a pretty different game, it makes 5/10 look passive by comparison. A lot of it is knowing when to call down and when not to. I had a extremely hard time adjusting at first, calling nothing down, then everything down, then nothing down again. Focus more on reads and play less tables so you can make better decisions until you regain your confidence and get the feel for the play of 10/20.

Thats wrong. 10/20 is a totally different game if you dont adapt you wont win no matter how good you were at 5/10.
