Default a river fold

party PL 1000

me:$2k
villian:$2.7k

villian is a good new regular. he is 29/18, so on the lagish side, but plays well. not sure how good he is yet, but seems quite good.

i knock after villian limps utg,two others call and SB completes.

i have Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

flop: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

i lead for $50, villian calls, all others fold.

turn: I bet $140, villian makes it $550, I call.

river: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

i chk, villian thinks for a few seconds and bets $600, i fold.

thoughts or comments on any street?

thanks,

fsuplayer

I assume turn was a brick. Even so, turn action will tell you whether villain has a 6, 22, a flushdraw, or an overpair. Why not check the turn and call a reasonable bet?

Yeah, unfortunately he probably hit his 8 on the turn, his pause on the end for dramatic effect that the flush card has any significance.

I don't like the turn call. That's a biggggg raise.

You can't possibly be ahead on the river.

fsu was BB, so he acts before villain.

Anyway, what range of hands did you put him on when you called the turn raise? I personally would fold on the turn knowing I am probably facing a decent-sized river bet, but given that you called, a small blocking bet might work well on the river. Maybe throw out a $250 bet and fold to a raise?
