Default encouragement

I need some of it right about now! Today was easily one of my worst days playing PartyPoker. I played for 3 hours at 15/30 and I honestly believe I played my best game. However, the results show -$150 which isn't a lot for this limit. I lost with KK three times on the button, all three of which I correctly bet and 3-bet preflop or postflop. All three times I lost on the river to either a 2 outer or a four outer. I lost with AK to Q3o, every pocket-pair I get, two overcards flop. I MEAN WHAT IS GOING ON???

I've lost 1000 in one day on PartyPoker before, but NEVER have I been SO UNLUCKY at 15/30 IN ONE SITTING. I mean I'm actually sort of GLAD I'm ONLY down $150. BUT SERIOUSLY I'M NEAR BREAKING DOWN. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON. IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY, IT'S ABOUT THE CARDS AND WHAT THEY'RE DOING TO ME!!!

Tell your parents you are sorry for using their CCs for online poker.

It will be hard for you to sleep tonight knowing you lost 5 big bets in the course of your session.

If you play 15-30 on a regular basis and that all you've ever lost your a very lucky man.

Imagine that at the end of your life, you look back on the graph of your poker profits. You'll see little spikes here, little dips there. Overall, you'll see a generally straight line. If you work hard and think actively, you'll see that this line gently gets steeper and steeper over time.

At any point in time, all you should be thinking about is the slope of that line. What can you do to make the slope of that line go up? These are the things you can control. These are the things that make you a good poker player. These are things you should examine, watch, think about, fret over.

Overcards hitting the flop have no effect on the slope of this line. Ignore them.

Good luck.
Eric

Default -$150???

As Fast Eddie Felson said in The Color of Money, "If you walk into a shoe store with $150 you come out with one shoe".

I agree with the poster that said you should step down a level or two.
