I'd like to raise the turn, but getting 3-bet would make me throw up in my mouth, so I think that's fine

Do you fold after throwing up in your mouth? And what about raising the river instead then?

it's not raising the turn that i think is so wimpy. i put him on a flush draw when he didnt check raise me on the flop.

the idea behind raising the turn is to charge him for his outs and give him a chance to fold a hand with some outs (or call getting insufficient drawing odds). calling is like giving a free card. you have the chance to make him pay, but you're choosing not to. raising the river does not accomplish the same thing.

people always ask "do you fold if...?" but it doesn't matter because I didn't say to raise. I suppose you'd have to fold though. which sucks, because you gave up 4-6 outs for the same price it would've cost to see a showdown. all to make get him to fold or charge him to draw in a tiny pot

there is no advantage to raising the turn if he has a flush draw. it might actually be worse to raise the turn if he has a flush draw
