No Limit is against the law in the People's Republic of Minnesota. They do have 3 NL tourneys each month--the first Sunday and two Wednesday nights. In April that would be 4/3, 4/6 and 4/20.

The Sunday tourny is $400 + 40 and the Wednesdays are $200 + 25.

For NL cash games go to St. Croix casino in Turtle Lake, WI. Also, I heard Grand Casino Hinkley has a $2/5 5-60 limit game...

Thanks tek.

LOL. I didn't know it was illegal. That's kind of random.

Theres a $60 bet limit for poker in Minnesota. Which is why theres no NL/PL and the highest limit is 30/60.

I think that the provision in their charter is that no more than $300 may be wagered in a single round, which happens to be equivalent to a bet and four raises at $30/60. The powers that be have no interest in spreading NL cash games. They feel that players will go broke too quickly, and they can't make money off of broke people.

There's nothing illegal about no-limit cash games per se. You can have a no-limit home game so long as there's no rake.

I know this is true but I've always wondered why when it's HU they will allow an unlimited cap then at 30/60 since it's very possible to get over $300 on one street.

Man have I broken the law a lot. My record is 19 bets on the flop, but have also gone 17 and 14.
