Default Pacific Disconnect Problem?

I want to play a table at Pacific but I have heard about problems in their software that cause you to disconnect randomly. Does this happen frequently? If you are diconnected you would be treated as all in right?

Thanks

seriously, it is not worth any bonus/fishyness to play at Pacific. You've been warned.

They've managed to achieve a great consistency with disconnects. Very regular. Frequent. Common. Normal.

From a software pov Pacific is the worst poker site on the net. There are so many long term unfixed glitches that it's not funny any more. Most are minor; some are major.

You can tell Support about them until you are blue in the face. You will always receive an exceedingly polite response, a day later, but no fixes are ever made.

They don't seem vaguely interested in enticing new poker players, or especially in keeping old players, by means of bonuses - I suspect new players arrive because of 888.com adverts and sponsorships, play for a week or so, then most move on to better sites. At the moment, this keeps them ticking over, and their casino-mentality hasn't realised that poker players are different and require different treatment.

From a player pov, if you can stand playing in this environment, it is relatively, (for very slow, one table play), profitable as few good players remain for long as against the numbers of transient new bad players. Otherwise, I recommend playing there only when you have guests for dinner and only need to pay attention to the screen every few minutes or so when the action gets back to you.

Don't believe any of the statistics shown on the available tables page.

Pacific is a good place to play if you are just starting out and you aren't ready to multi-table yet. They'll give you $10 free to play the .05/.10 tables and you might build your BR from there.

But I'll never forget the time I was in the BB, everyone limped in, and I got disconnected - just before flopping a full house.

To answer your question, I was treated as all-in and won all the bets - the bets made PF, that is. I missed out on quite a few more. I don't play there anymore.

I've played at this joint more than most; like a cat I can't resist the smell of fish.....but....I really wonder how random the 'disconnect' problem is at Pacific. Out of curiosity I tried a couple of things that proved somewhat disturbing.
1) Try throwing a few comments in the chat about how awful you think the site is or how great another site is....sometimes you get a mysterious disconnect; you'll be the only one booted on a full table.
2) Play real slow; all the way down to the last 3 sec. of available time. After trying this about 3 times in a row, you will have your hand thrown in the muck when there is still 3-4 seconds supposedly left. This is a consant thing, not random.
I'm no big conspiracy advocate, but do beleive there are room monitors from the site that may boot ya for a sec. if they dont like your attitude/speed/playing style.
Only site I've ever played at that gives me an uneasy 'big brother' feeling.....but as long as you kiss ass in the chat box and keep up to speed, its a money maker. They have preflop stats of 60%, and I'll be damned if you dont see 6 out of ten in on most flops on these tables, so its not too far from the truth. I'll usually put in a $25 deposit, run it up to $100 and bail. Then repeat process after withdrawl has cleared after a few days. Never keep much in there, stay fluid.

On a related note....Pacific is run by casino on net; a monster that is always throwing free money around to entice. Almost any decent sized deposit there (that of course you lose) will be followed by a reward $50 bonus the following month. At least thats the way I remember it before I swore to never play there again.... The site preys on the gambling addicted.
With the huge preflop % compared to any other site, it sure makes me think they have some props that are throwing some small change into the begining of pots to induce action irregardless of their hands. Once they get the ball rolling they can drop out and thus boost the rake.
Only explaination I have as to why this site is so much more 'fishy' than any other.

There is no conspiracy, the site has a lot of bad players because of the casino connection and because the good players move on to other sites where they can use poker tracker, multi-table, and play more hands (the pacific interface is fairly slow).

That being said I started out at Pacific with $20 for which I got 2 free books and a $5 bonus. Finally left there when I topped $200 and got a great offer from Paradise (50% bonus up to $100), but I will likely go back there at some point as the tables have a high flop % all the way up to $15-30...
