Default Stupid Question....

What is "bump"? I see people post that quite a bit.

Assuming others sort the forum as most-recent post first, this just puts the thread at the top of their list.

Just in case you didn't get an answer to your question. People will usually look at it again and give you an answer.

BTW: Kurto...I really appreciate people to ask the honest questions. You see a lot of sarcasm around here ( I personally like it) and it tends to keep people from asking innocent questions like this. I'm sure someone as always wondered what "Bump" meant or "MHIG" and stuff but were too chicken to ask. Props man...

So it gets their attention and they hopefully reply. I don't know about you, but I am usually just looking at page 1 of this forum. Things roll away to subsequent pages as more posts come in. A bump puts it back on page 1, back on people's radar screens, and perhaps gets you some commentary.

Thanks.

I did improv for years... I made myself look stupid in front of crowds for years,... there's no question I could ask on this forum that would be more humiliating then some of the shows I was part of.

If someone needs someone to ask a silly question, they can send me a message. I'll ask it!

I think the first 20-30 times I saw it, I didn't even think about it that much.

Then, for some reason, I decided it meant "never mind"... like they posted it, then decided they figured it out and were saying "bump it out of here." lol

I didn't think about it for awhile (another 100 posts or so) and then it struck me that what I thought didn't make any sense.

I just learned what "MHING" meant the other day. Usually I could tell by the context whether a person won or not so it wasn't really that necessary for me to know the exact explanation.

So... what does " " mean?
