Default Flop 3-bet to make sure you are beat?

Is this flop 3-bet too much?

No reads on Villain.

The flop play is fine, and I like the turn fold.

Your pre-flop call is suspect. if raiser is tight, it's an easy fold, if he is a poor player, you certainly want to 3 bet and try to get it heads=up with blind money in the pot.

I'd don't like the preflop call .. without reads, you don't have good position or enough players in the pot already to make coldcalling with 77 a good idea

against a LAG you might try to get it HU by 3betting, but against an unknown you have to give some credit to the raise and get out

I don't like the flop play either, the intial flop bet is ok, there is a decent shot you have the best hand, 2players have already shown weakness and getting it HU will increase your winning chances, even getting just 1player out is beneficial

however once its HU and its been raised, you don't want to 3bet, if your hand is better you are vulnerable to a lot of turn cards, and you won't fold him for 1 small bet

I would call the flop raise, and check raise the turn blank, fold if 3bet

3-betting for information is dangerous, as this clearly illustrates.

I like the call, CR turn line. Costs the same, but if you get 3-bet on the turn you can dump it easy and confidently.

it does cost an extra bet compared to the fold the turn UI

I'd like to see Entity, BT and the other regulars thoughts on this line

This hand confuses me, I would have played it the same way or maybe called down the flop raise since its heads up.

I know I would have bet the flop, is that wrong with the paired board? Why not 3bet, is it because the villain could easily have a Q?

Depending on reads, anywhere from TT-AA are quite possible, as well as AQ or maybe even KQ.

Edit: A lot of players will not let go of AA/KK even when facing a lot of aggression from a paired board. However, it would appear in this case that villain most likely does have a Q.
