Default reraising a tight chipleader on the bubble

Is there any read I could have on the Villain that makes me fold this? So far my read is "very tight-passive." I don't want to get results-oriented and think this was a bad play just because it didn't turn out well. On the other hand, should I have been clued in by the minraise?

FWIW I'd do it again in the same situation unless someone can convince me otherwise.

I'll give it a shot. Because A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] is a shitty hand and a known tight player has just raised you?

How did I do?

I agree with your play, Your hand is just too strong heads up and you are last in chips. If someone else is sitting there with 200 chips you can consider folding, but I think you did the right thing here.

No, stop and go only works if you act first on the flop. Because the SB raised you, they act first. I would raise preflop, there are some players on PP who will fold to the reraise.

The thing is, this is a weak-tight player: the kind who just might fold to a reraise. I don't mind A8s 4-handed. I won't call with it, but it's not that bad.

Slim,

The only thing I see here is that you have no folding equity. SB aint going to fold to your reraise. Now you should decide whether you want to risk everything with A8s. Would SB make a play with anything that A8 beats? Maybe. Just because someone plays tight early doesnt mean they play that way shorthanded when folded to in the SB. I fit that description to a t and I would raise you with almost anything. What is your image? If you've been playing tight yourself, then SB may think he has got an easy steal. I probably would have done the same thing with only 5x the BB. But then again we should know A8s is a crappy hand.
