Default Calling when you know you are beat (no content

Is there ever a situation in micro when you would call a river bet knowing you are beat just to get a show?

micro, i would never pay if im 100% sure i'm behind.
your not running into the same people often / that person probly wont be @ your table much longer so theres no real need to pay money to get a better read on the players play.

you can too often let someone else do it for you to make it worthwhile doing it yourself.

No. Let other people pay to make the guy show. You can get info from him on all hands and not just the ones where you are playing pots with him. So let other people make stupid river calls against him and use that information in a +EV way.

Once in a while I'll make a sanity call when I'm like 98% sure I'm beat, but if you're certain, as has been said, let others pay.

It depends on the size of the pot and how many players are left at the river. With large pots I am more likely to call because I am never 100% certain that I am beat and it is only one bet to win a whole pot. I don't know about the higher levels, but especially at .5/1 I have called a few river bets in large pots 90% sure someone had me beat only to see villan with unimproved Ax. The pot has to be large, and I generally won't make overcalls.

Second this. I am amazed at what players will call down or bet with at .5/1. Sometimes not even Ax unimproved. Is there ever a time where you are ever 100% certain that you are beat?
