Default more 30/60 shorthanded

Full game that was great, now 2 donators are "sitting out" and awaiting their return. so effectively 8 handed. folded to hijack who is a bit too loose preflop and loose aggressive postflop. he raises. i have AQo in the bb and i 3 bet, he calls.

flop is Kh8c8d.

i bet he calls. now i feel that this is either, i have a great hand and am trying to extract the max, OR i have nothing and am gunna take this away on the turn with a raise.

turn is 2h. i check he bets i call.

river Kh. i check he bets i call.

comments?

You don't think there is a chance he has decided to go into call down mode with a pair?

he'd likely raise a pair right there on the flop.

well played. Yes there is a chance he has a pair, but this is still the best line, loses the least and wins the max against this opponent.

thanks...just double checking...he had J8 and MHIVVVNG (v=very)

also, do you guys mind i post some HH's in prose form? i know every hand i used to post was in prose form but that was before bison's converter...then i went on a kick of using bison's converter, but for hands i remember very specifically its just a pain in the ass to dig it up...

i think your line is fine. i take that line all the time when i fear that villain is capable of bluffraising the turn and im not able to call down. granted, not all the time, but when need be.

I feel shitty that i lost control of the hand when he checks his Ax behind on the river costing me a 1bb value bet (the times the board doesn't pair).

The only times i checkcall the turn is when i feel he'll bluff raise with near optimal equity and even when i do that i then lead the river as a value bet.
