A boring QJo hand in MP1
Same table as the other. Mostly rocks/MTers with one known 2+2 (in the CO). Two loose bad players, one who makes too many moves but I've been hurting (and he stopped calling my raises).
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: BigEndian is UTG+2 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 2 folds, BigEndian raises, 5 folds, SB 3-bets, 1 fold, BigEndian calls. Re: A boring QJo hand in MP1
I think you played the flop and the turn very well.

Re: A boring QJo hand in MP1
You tried to steal from ep, you got caught with your hand in the cookie jar. What range of hands do you think SB has? and how do you think your QJ off plays against that range? I think you fold the flop, and save yourself one sb.

Re: A boring QJo hand in MP1
This preflop raise is flat out awful beyond belief. Muck the QJo in EP here. After the flop, I guess it's ok. But you're preflop error will prove very costly in the long run if you play it like that.

I think you're right Bob. I posted this hand hoping someone would see genius where I felt like I threw an extra bet in. This player was an unknown and pretty new to the table at the time.

Re: A boring QJo hand in MP1
i don't like the pre-flop raise from EP, even at a tight table.

Re: A boring QJo hand in MP1
I disagree with this. This is not a raise you make from any position all the time, agreed. But given the table description, I think this raise has plenty EV.
Very frequently I find myself on tables where the action is tight enough that I can steal from EP. Why would I not take advantage of it? How mny AJ, KJ, KQ, AQ hands are going to call me at this table given the description? - Jim |

Re: A boring QJo hand in MP1
I don't think being bored is a good reason to play this hand and I can't think of any other reason.

Re: A boring QJo hand in MP1
like every post in these small stakes forums, this one has 5 answers saying the same thing and I'll add to it.
pre-flop raise was too loose. Fold this hand in EP every time. Flop call is puzzling. Even with the 7 small bets in there I can't find a call here. You have somewhere between 6 and 0 outs. |

Re: A boring QJo hand in MP1
It's an interesting though, and I'm sure it has value used with controlled frequency and complimenting tables.
