Default Early in tourney with A-K of hearts

Thought this was an interesting hand. Thoughts on PF and post flop would be great. 10 dollar buy in last night.... Only read on villian is that he liked to limp in any position with suited cards early.

Even though his push screams that he doesn't have a hand, you have to fold the flop.

yeah, I'm folding here. I don't like this call one bit. Looks like 88 to me. You've got too many chips to mess around putting them in in this spot. Find a time to put them in when you're farther ahead(God this doesn't sound much like me does it?).

I agree with Gavin to a certain degree. This move screams 77/88/99 to me. However, he doesnt have to be bluffing with AQ very often to make this call profitable. You are getting 1.5:1 on a 2:1 shot against PP below a K. I think the call can be justified (barely) against a very LAGGY opponent. That is, the chances of him making this play without a pair must be much much higher than the chances of him having AA or KK. I still think its a fold, but its borderline enough to be pushed to a call in specific situations.

with this read you have a fold. Vs a player who has shown LAGGY tendencies, you can make a case for calling.

i think you both played the flop terribly.
he had no business betting and you had no business calling.

With AK why not just call preflop? I understand AK is a top 5 hand but I always see players re-raising with the hand in spots when they should be calling. My rule with AK is: If I am re-raising I need to be able to get all my chips in pre-flop & see all 5 cards. In your case I would flat called the 80 here with position on the early opener.

As far as your play on the flop: it's one thing to make the aggressive move there & push in but once he beats you to it, run & hide.

I don't mind the push on this flop. If you get called you have 10 outs against 1010/JJ/QQ and 7 outs against KK. So, usually when you get called you're drawing very live. Sure, you are never very ahead when you get called, but if you check AQ (and maybe a random AJ or KQ) are taking this pot away from you. I think the original raiser should probably have pushed preflop, but pushing this flop isnt awful
