I would raise to 115ish on the flop. Why let him see a virtually free turn card when you have not that strong of a hand? Take the pot down.

Agreed.

No use giving UTG+1 great odds to call as there are too many scare cards in the deck.
Not to mention calling the SB doesn't help define the SB's hand.

He's lucky UTG+1 folded here.

Woodguy

I agree ,

1. you need to see where you stand, more than likly ahead.

2. you need to get the other limpers out of the hand.

Agree about raising. Another (less practical) question is, assuming you're not going to raise, is it better to just call or fold?

Also...I always thought TPTK meant top pair, top kicker. Was I wrong about that? Or should the post be titled "TPCK in step 5"?

The flop call lets our Hero get away cheap if UTG+1 raises, plus he can fold out the flush draws on the turn (assuming the flush misses) with the same number of chips he would have had to commit to raise the flop (which probably would not get the flush to fold).

Add in that raising the flop builds a big pot with a small pot hand and callings seems OK to me.

BTW schwza - one-table or two-table Step 5? Could make a difference, ya know.

Later,
Che
