Default betting a percentage of the pot. What is right and when?

When do I bet out 1/3 of the pot, 1/2 the pot, 3/4, and full pot?

what are some generalizations on this topic, or specific examples?

Edit: This is in general, on all streets. With 100x bb stacks.

Is this on the river or just in general?

On the flop, if I am betting, regardless of my holding I am betting full pot on a draw heavy board, and half pot on a drawless board.

often, i find myself betting about the pot on the flop. on later streets, i might bet less. this is because if you keep betting the pot, you will be all in by the river. you need to bet more on draw heavy flops and then you can slow down a bit later if you feel all the draws folded.
