Another tipping question
You pull into a full service gas station and the guy pumps the gas, cleans your windshield and changes your oil.
Do you tip him? |

Re: Another tipping question
if i chose full service, then definitly. if i had no choice, he better do a good job. if he does an excellent job, i tip very well.
reflex tipping is what makes servers, gas station attendants, etc, think that they can do the minimum and still get better-than-the-minimum $$$. don't do it. (except at a crowded bar, where i tip like five bucks on the first drink, and the rest of the night, that bartender's picking me out of the back of the line. +EV) |

Re: Another tipping question
Hmm, no clue. I don't know if I have ever had anyone do these things for me.
As an aside, in New Jersey "self serve" gas stations are not allowed - all gas stations are full service. |

Re: Another tipping question
Do you mean "checks" your oil? I've heard of 15 minute oil changes, but I'd be pretty damn impressed if they could get that done while they're gassing up the car. That'd be worth a tip..... $10, minimum.
To answer the question, if they're real nice about it, or if they help you / point out something of interest, (Your tires are low, let me check those for you...) it's worth a buck or two. Rob |
