Weak or ok?

Villian is 20% VPIP 6% PFR but i've seen him raise with complete crap many times. Where do i slow down here?

Flop: (11 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, MP2 bets, Hero raises, SB folds, MP2 calls.

Turn: (7.50 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP2 bets, Hero calls.

River: (9.50 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP2 bets, Hero calls.

when he bets the flop, his most likely holdings are a 7 or an 8.

If he has either of those cards, he has you drawing to 2 outs on river. Small pot, fold the turn.

I might have raised the turn looking for a cheap showdown. He might have had AX and thought he had the best hand.

when i say with complete crap i don't mean like A7s or anything usually high 1 gappers or connectors or high PP. I wouldn't see any hand he would have with a 7 or 8 in it?

Is this a joke?! This guy could have high cards, an overpair or nothing at all. Don't be afraid of the worst.

when i see him raising he is raising with semi ok hands and with 1 limper i would highly doubt a A7s A8s raise or somethign simular.. also with his AF of nearly 5 he would have 3 bet/capped the preflop betting.

Does 8T qualify as a high enough 1-gapper?

I dunno... it all depends on the read, of course, but I don't see many pre-flop raise hands in a 20/6 player containing 7's and 8's. I'm sure that's probably over a low sample-size, though.

He didn't cap pre-flop, tho, which means it probably isn't the AA-KK-QQ variety. Might be a pair of 8's, but that's really seeing monsters.

I thinking you need to raise this turn. If he 3-bets you there, then call down, but I don't trust what I'm seeing here.

if he had 8s he woul dhave capped the flop for sure. Now that i look at it more raising the turn would have been the best play here.
