Default Chip amounts needed for a home tourney

How many chips is enough for a 2-table tourney?

600 enough?

And what is a good breakdown for colors to get?
I'm getting Neophyte chips from buypokerchips. (I don't have a choice there, dad-in-law is paying for them).
I already have a set of 600 with denominations for our .50-1.00 cash game, now I'm getting another set without denominations for 1 or 2-table tourneys that we have occassionaly

200 each of 3 colors?
300-150-150?
Something else?

500 is standard for 1 table.

1000 would be best for 2 tables. my 650 set is on the way and I've figured I can wing 20 people, although their will be lots of change being made for the first few levels. If you are regularly going to be hosting a 20 player tourney you'll want 1k. one option is to use some chips out of your cash set for the lowest denomination in the tourney, and that should leave you more room if you can't pick up enough.

my 650 set is 200red/200green/200black/50 purple but they are also doing double duty for cash games (green .25/black $1)

I run a freeroll for 25 people with 600 chips. Each buy in is 750 - 10 red @ $5 - 4 green @ $25 - 6 black @ $100

I have 40 green ($25) - 40 black ($100) - 20 yellow ($500) for coloring up.

The blinds start at 5-10 and increase every 20 minutes to start, every 15 minutes after 2 hours, every 10 minutes after 3 hours. The tournament lasts 3 to 3.5 hours. Longest ever was 3.75 hours. I've run 16 of them like this. The blinds are pretty damn agressive compared to starting stack but it is a freeroll
