They are primarily -EV because the odds you are getting are so short compared to the true odds. In other words, you pay more juice with parlays (except three-teamers). There are generally two situations when you want to use parlays:
(1) when the outcomes of the events are correlated or (2) when you are getting better than normal odds. Other than that, the best play is to stick with straight bets.
