Default I\'m sure I played this poorly

Party NL $25. I've been sitting at the table for 3.5hrs and I have not won much but feel like I have a decent read on a few of the players. Villain has gone up and down but has not played horribly to this point. He is somewhat loose but is no maniac.

$25 NL Hold'em
(6 max) (Real Money)

Total number of players : 5
SB Hero ( $34.94 )
BB ( $9.5 )
UTG ( $57.48 )
CO Villain ( $49.22 )
Button ( $41.7 )
Hero posts small blind [$0.25].
BB posts [$0.5].
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Hero [ 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ]
UTG folds. Villain calls [$0.5]. Button Folds Herocalls [$0.25].BB checks.
Flop [ T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ]
Hero bets [$1.5].
BB folds.
Villain raises [$5].
Hero calls [$3.5].
Turn [ A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ]
Hero checks.
Villain goes all-in [$43.72]
Hero calls. [$29.44]

I think I messed up on every street. Ridicule away, but give me some solid advice too please.

Preflop is fine, flop is fine. Bet the turn. Checking is just giving a free card to a likely draw. If he raises the turn, you can think about laying down.

I think its pretty clear you are whooped when he goes all in... he either has ace rag 2 pair if he is insane, or he has the JQ. I lead the turn for about 3/4ths the pot and if he raises you are ahead about no percent of the time and can fold with a clear conscience.

Now that I think about it I might min reraise the flop. If a min reraise on that board doesnt slow him down, he has the straight. I fold to a push, and if he flat calls on that board I think you are ahead, or up against a set, but not the straight. That way you lose about 10 bucks instead of 30, or 20 going with the call and leading the turn, which is kinda transparent since you didnt raise PF.
