Default rolled threes folded on 4th- weak tight again?

i'm thinking that this was either a smart laydown or my weak-tight stud tendancies rearing its ugly head again. absolute 2/4:

i have the bring in with [33]3 and i just bring it
next to act raises me with [xx]A
fold
fold
guy on my right calls with [xx]J
I raise
the ace calls
the jack calls

dealing 4th

me: [33]36
him: [xx]AA (rut roh...)
other guy: [xx]JJ (yoikes!)

AA raises
JJ raises
I fold
they cap

and so on and so forth, till the JJ hits another J on 6th and the AA folds.

so, do you like that fold, or should i have stuck it out? (of course i would've mucked on 6th...)

I don't really play Stud High (just fooled around a bit) but when they both pair their door cards, I think it's time to fold. You’re lucky you were able to get out early.

Does this make me weak-tight too?

heh. the reason i think i tend to play weak tight in stud is the extra betting round. in this hand my thought process was:

'woah i'm rolled up! sweeeeeet....'
'ok, raise! ...suckers'
'well that A sucks... and another J!... hmmmm...'
'why is that J reraising the open aces? i'm outta here!'

Even if they didn't have trips yet, the chance that they did +the fact that i was gonna get trapped in a raising war weighed heavily on my mind. If they did, i'd have to boat while they didn't to win the pot. from the 6th street action i have to assume that they didn't have trips yet, but i stand by my fold. <sigh>

Facing a bet and and a raise from their two paired doors you had no choice but to make the smart laydown and fold. I know it sucks, and I mean sucks folding rolled. But it had to be done. Well played, this was not weak-tight at all.

Real nice fold. Totally sucks to make that though.

Poker isn't about good hands--it's about good situations. Fourth street is not a good situation for you.

Not flaming, just curious - what makes you think you had any other reasonable play other than fold? And, if you were to chase, why would you muck on 6th instead of 7th?
