Would you push here?
Relatively new player who is trying to improve bubble play.
Zonker has been raising preflop almost very hand. I'm thinking this is a no-brainer push... Anyone disagree? Re: Would you push here?
Good question. What are the factors that make you think this might not be a good push?

Re: Would you push here?
yes, that is a no-brainer push.
If you are asking about pushing a pair of 9s when it is 4-handed, my guess is that you are folding a bunch of hands that you could be pushing. |

Re: Would you push here?
I think its pretty read dependent. If raiser has been minraising everyhand, go ahead and fight back (but only if you think he's capable of folding 2 broadways). I think in most cases though, this is a fold and wait for an opportunity to open push.

Re: Would you push here?
Factors against
1.Zonkers has shown strength and even though he is raising frequently he is not a maniac. 2.I'm not under any immediate pressure from the blinds. 3. Storden is a bit short stacked and if I just want to make the money I could try an wait him out. Factors in favor 1. Poor position negated by pushing. If i just call and miss the flop I'm out of postion and most likely against overcards on the board. I would expect him to keep the pressure on. 2. I thought it reasonably likely that he would fold and even if he doesn't i think a 55-45 coinflip in my favor is probable. 3. If i double up I'm in excellent position to win. |

Re: Would you push here?
jcm4cc, I think i definitely was a month or so ago but have become much more aggressive recently. I used to live in terror of going out on the bubble which was basically a self-fulfilling prophecy.

[/ QUOTE ] ChipWarrior, you have excellently summed up all the factors correctly. Why are you asking this question? You are acutely aware of the risks involved. Do you know how to do ICM analysis? This would be a good hand to do this on. |

Re: Would you push here?
FWIW, IMO, there are a lot of benefits to playing weak tight, in this situation.
Do not read the above statement to mean that I would fold this hand though. |

Re: Would you push here?
Unless the initial raiser was pushing tons, I would fold this with few reservations. You are getting called 90% of the time, and are almost always going to be racing at best. The BB may have to call here also if you fold, as he will have only 870 left after this hand.
Not that tough a fold at all. |

Re: Would you push here?
Against a player who has been raising almost every hand this is any easy move all in play. No regrets.
You are only slightly ahead of the small stack, plus you are looking to move up to first or second. 99 could well be the best hand you get in the next 20 minutes. |
