Default Medium LA Big Bet Games *crossposted*

Yes, I know this maybe should be posted in B&M, but the LA big bet players frequent this board more, so here goes:

I'm looking to "take a shot" (though i have the BR to play these regularly, I haven't been confident enough in my live play until recently) at a bigger live game and want to find the easiest 500 or greater buyin game in LA. I know te bike and commerce spread $500 5/10 and i was wondering how these games play compared to the $100 and $200 games. Do these games use a rake or a time charge?

Also, are there games that let you buyin deep on smaller blinds at the less centralized casinos? (morongo, hustler, ocean's 11 etc.) I have no experience with these rooms.

thanks

I really play almost solely at Commerce. The game is 10/20 600 min and is wildly unpredictable. I can sit there and know I'm the best player at the table, or fear that I'm the worst. When I moved to LA in August, I started playing that game and got the [censored] kicked out of me for a month. Then I just went uber tight, identified the idiots and waited for them while staying away from the guys who worried me. Now, I know who everyone is and it's much easier. Skill-wise, having read your posts, I think you would be fine. Just start slow, and figure out who's who - I'm on the East Coiast for a month or I'd meet you there and give you a scouting report. On average, the players are much better than 200NL, but there are always numerous weak spots.

Hollywood park occasionally spreads a 500 min, and it's much weaker than the Commerce game, but it goes rarely. Call HP and get Milo's number(Mike Miller) - Tell him you play NL and he'lll call you when the game is going to go.

As for The Bike - PM riverboatking - I think he owns that game.
