KQs, didnt hit the board at all, 1/2 full
Looking for general advice. I'm not sure if I should lean towards betting flops and the turn without hitting or not, after PF raising. In these types of situations, what would be the optimal strategy? Is it foolish to try to pick up the pot with only overcards on the flop and turn? THanks

Re: KQs, didnt hit the board at all, 1/2 full
I've very rarely, and really just to break up my play of overcards with the standard bet/bet/cf line, bet out on the river, but I'll never say it's a winning play of mine. It's only been with AK, also. Just check/fold it on the river. Otherwise I play it the same.
err, yeah you're LP, check it through and be happy if you got it. |

Eh, hero is last to act on the river here.
I like the turn bet heads up, but the river is a definite check through. He isn't calling with a worse hand here enough to make this a value bet (it's not even close to enough). |

Re: KQs, didnt hit the board at all, 1/2 full
There are millions of hands like this that have been posted. Betting the river has next to zero value because you will lose like 99% of the time that you are called and he won't be folding a better hand here often enough. This bet is more of a bluff then a value bet because A-high still might fold. So at least you have some bluff equity with this hand (unlike with AK or AQ), but not enough to make it profitable.
