AK: Did I do it backwards?
UTG is fishy, VP/AGG = 50%/0.5.
Now I'm thinking I played this hand all wrong. How is the turn 3-bet. I'm thinking I should have raised the river, but I was a little cautious of UTG's uncharacteristic aggression. Comments appreciated. Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Re: AK: Did I do it backwards?
How is the turn 3 bet you ask? I dont like it, and here is why. Villian's checkraise tell you that you are likely to be reverse dominated. Villian likely has 2 pair. I like the bet a lot -- it's mandatory. But after a raise I put villian on A/crap where crap = 7,3 or (less likely) T. The river is where a raise is warranted

Re: AK: Did I do it backwards?
The 3-bet is okay against most players. Against a loose/passive, it is probably going overboard. Given that the A came on the turn, someone could be gearing up for a c/r with a worse ace. Had the ace come on the flop, I would almost never 3-bet the turn unless a the villian was a LAG. We probably would have heard from the LAG on the flop though, so there really isn't any time I would 3-bet had the ace come on the flop. Raising the river after he caps the turn is probably -EV as well. You have to be good 66% here, and he probably will not cap the turn with most of his 2-pair hands. Against a better player, you should raise the river because he will know that a set on the turn isn't any stronger then 2 ragged pair. Compare T7 and 77 as an example. They both lose to TT and AA and crush AK-AJ. AT is the only hand that the set can beat that the 2 junk pair can't. The loose/passive will probably not think on this level, and will usually slowdown with 2-pair (where he would go crazy with trips). Exploit his poor decision making.

Re: AK: Did I do it backwards?
Great responses guys. Villian shows A7. Considering his passive nature from my reads, I couldn't put him on much worse than a set, hence the chickening out on the river.
