Default JJ -- very little content, but this hand amused me

I keep posting hands I suspect I played poorly, but since I also comment on others' hands a lot (more than I post my own), I thought I'd post at least one I thought I played okay (results included, in this case).

This is how the winning hands I show down usually go (approximately, anyway -- the pots I win are often much smaller), and it's pretty mundane:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, 4 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, 1 fold, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: (9 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets, SB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 folds.

Turn: (6 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, SB raises, UTG folds, Hero 3-bets, SB caps, Hero calls.

River: (14 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB calls.

Final Pot: 18 BB

Results in white below:
SB has Ac Ad (one pair, aces).
Hero has Jc Js (three of a kind, jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins 18 BB.

I don't object to SB's play as much as some might, though I would have 3-bet preflop with his hand. But his play did backfire, this time.

I used to play the way that the SB played that hand. That's probably why I wasn't doing good and my aces were barely a winner moneywise.

To me, playing passive early on with Aces only left people chase their draws for cheap and I'd end up losing a lot more when they hit than I would win when they didn't. They'd get out early and I'd be left winning a small pot.

Actually his play saved him the extra SB or 2 that would have gone in had SB reraised preflop

On the other hand, would you have folded to a flop raise? So the slowplay saved him bets because you drew out on him. I'm sure this is what the Matador would tell you. Buh!
