Default mid pocket pair one off the button

i just made the move from 10-20 to 20-40 and i was wondering what the correct move would be if i held fours to eights one off the button and there were no limpers. should i raise and try to steal the blinds or see a flop?

.10-.20 to .20-.40? If you're seriously asking this question, perhaps you shouldn't be moving up.

Or moving way down if you did mean 10/20 to 20/40.

$20-$40. i mentioned that because i wouldn't try to steal the blinds in $10-$20 because the game i play in always too loose and always defend their blind.

I wouldn't do that.

If you really aren't sure then you seriously shouldn't be playing 20/40, unless you're loaded and just enjoy it and don't care if you lose some. To answer your question, I would normally raise.
