I am thinking about getting another monitor. A lot of people here have the Dell 2001fp. A quick price search puts that monitor at $600. I can get a 19" LCD for $300. Is the Dell 2001fp worth the extra money?

If you 4 table, yes, get it over the 19.
I just got mine and like it so much that I will soon buy one for my 2 other computers. |

I recently bought one and love it. I use dual monitors and the 2001fp blows away my 19" CRT. Four-tabling is a dream with no overlap. I only use the CRT to surf the web whil I'm 4-tabling otherwise it's off.
You should be able to get one for $550 if you get coupons and sales etc direct from Dell. Try fatwallet.com forums to help you get the best deal and coupons. |

The 19" will not support 1600x1200. So it's no a matter of splurging for the 2001 it's a matter of what features you want in your new monitor. Now would I say the extra cost is worth having 1600x1200 resolution..yes I would but that's a decision you'll have to make.
Another plus is the response time for the 2001fp is 16ms....if you don't know what this means then it doesn't matter to you but if you're a gamer you should look up this stat before you buy an LCD. |

I finally broke down and bought 2 2001FPs the other the week... I can't believe I put off this purchase for so long. These monitors are pure sex for the eyes.
Well worth every cent I paid for them. |

I know this has been discussed, but I am having trouble finding out exactly the best route to take on this...
I have a Sony K series notebook. Sony.com lists this for the graphics specs: • Graphics ATI Radeon™ IGP 345M 64MB Video RAM (shared w/ Main Memory) Is this sufficient to run a 2001fp? What would be the easiest way to run two of them from my current situation; is there a way to upgrade my laptop (preferably in an external fashion) to run two 2001fp's, or do I need to get a different computer? I've reviewed the threads on this, and while helpful, I can't quite figure out exactly what upgrading a laptop's graphics entails. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

I don't think you can upgrade a notebooks' graphics card. At least that is what I have been told. Whether you can run the two external screens somehow, I don't know.

I got the 19 and I wish I had got the 20 after seeing my buddy play on his 20.
