I met Al Alvarez this week

Well I have to report on meeting Al Alvarez, author of the wonderful poker book "The Biggest Game in Town".

I photographed him for a magazine feature in London during the week - and it was a real pleasure I can tell you. I have photographed many famous people and often they fail to meet your (unreasonably) high expectations - but Al was a treat. Funny, engaging and a lot of fun. In his 70s now but so full of life it made me a little jealous. He still plays poker - no limit online tournys - and plays in London at B&Ms. If you see him around in London say hi - you won't regret it.
