I don't cap the flop. I think it will kill your action on the later streets.

he plaid the flop like he had 2 pair, now he bets into you on the river. If all he has now is 3 jacks, would he really have 3 bet the flop with middle pair? (maybe a real aggro with QJ I guess would, but still, the point remains). A raise seems a bit to aggresive. Just call

Flop cap seems strange to me, too.

This is one of those situations where I probably just call and make a note--very few people mix up their play in this spot.

JBB also has the very counterfeitable nuts. Board pairs or an A hits, it could suck. Pump the pot when you got it, you might even be able to raise the turn against top two.

Gotta call the river though.

I hope you don't mean you think JBB was considering a fold...

yeah it could suck, but any hand could always bring a card that could suck. Also no player with half a brain is going to bet into a PFR who capped the flop on THAT board with top 2 pair.

I think capping accomplishes a lot more damaging things like making UTG check the turn, and getting the BB to fold.

Very counterfeitable nuts ? man.. This is a good hand. This seems like weak tight thinking to me. We have to be willing to go for more value in this situation.

I dunno, I haven't logged any 5/10 hands so I'll have to take your word that KJ won't lead. I just think there're are good amount of scare cards that either Villain won't lead, you won't raise, or you end up chopping, about 1/4 of the deck. Villan might also have something like a QT or KQ and check/call the turn.

I guess if villain will never lead the turn after a cap unless he fills, calling the 3-bet is the right play.

Edit: whoops, I didn't see BB in the hand. I like the cap less now.
