Yes you win the come bet and lose the pass line and odds bet. Think of the come bet as a new pass line bet since all the same rules apply.

The don't come is actually a little better bet, as is the don't pass bet. Each is slightly more in your favor than the Pass line and come bets. The thing is that most craps games are more or less social events and betting against the shooter isn't fun.

If you want to make bets beyond just the pass line though, the come bets are the way to go. You can get quite a bit of money on the table at a fairly low disadvantage to the house. It's alaways exciting to have a good bit at risk.

Now is it a good bet? No, nothing on the table is to your advantage. [except don't pass and don't come wagers after the roll out]

Yes. In the scenario you use, you lose your pass line and odds bet and win your come bet.

You want to rewrite that sentence and state it correctly this time?

I'm assuming you meant that for the EXISTING don't pass/don't come bets that have already gotten past their individual "come-out" roll.

"less bad" is a better term. If you want good, or at least break-even (which, in the casino world, is usually the best "good" you can get), start learning about odds bets.
