Starting to get deep: 1-2 Aladdin hand
$100 Max NL game at the Aladdin, Im in the SB with about $450, villian is on the button with about $350.
Villain seems to be a very solid player, he is a Brit and has way more big big background than I do (that is not saying much) . He seem solid but can also be tricky in spots, I am very happy to be seated to his left. His view of me is that I am tight and solid but very straightforward and maybe even a little weak/tight. 3 or 4 limeprs to me and I complete in the SB with T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Flop (pot $10) is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I lead out for $10, folded around to the button who makes it $30. I pause to think and call. With this flop I feel its very likely he could be making a semi bluff with against someone he thinks can make a laydown. Turn ($70) is the K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I lead for $35. Comments? |

Re: Starting to get deep: 1-2 Aladdin hand
If you think he's semi-bluffing with a draw, I'd want to bet more than half-pot when a blank falls. Don't let him get a cheap river.

Re: Starting to get deep: 1-2 Aladdin hand
Leading the flop is a mistake. I check call and see a cheap turn looking to get open ended, make 2 pair etc...I may even check/fold - I just don't want to play much of a pot when I flop top pair with T8. This feels more like an ego thing, you don't want to give in to this guy or something - who cares, if I don't hit a big card on the turn, I'm done with the hand.
