Default When wired deuces miss...

22 in MP3, pretty passive table. MP1 is LPP.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
2 folds, MP1 calls, Hero calls, CO calls, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (5 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP1 bets, Hero raises, CO folds, SB folds, BB folds, MP1 calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero checks.

River: (4.50 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 4.50 BB

So, the flop raise worked just as I intended, but I'm not sure have intended it: it folded the field, got me into the lead against the flop bettor, which then gave me two free looks to try to catch my miracle deuce.

But like I said, is this even what I want? I'm pretty sure MP1 caught at least a tiny piece (not a draw), and that my hand needs improvement to win, since MP1 will call my bets all the way down unless something super scary comes off. Should I just be folding if the flop doesn't give me a deuce?

You are right to wonder if you should fold on this flop. You missed, and you need to move on and not invest any more in this tiny pot.

You are risking 2SB to win a small 6SB pot, but your two will come by the river less than 8% of the time. The pot is not even close to being big enough to make this play. Calling for one bet is a significant mistake, putting in two bets is worse.

This raise is a huge money drain if you are doing it a lot.

Fold the flop. It's that simple.

You should really fold this flop. What do you think MP1 is betting with? He's LPP as you say. Even if he's betting bottom pair you're drawing to 2 outs. Get the hell out. Check-fold, next hand please.
