ATo live hand
A buddy of mine and I cruized up to Reno for a few days to go skiing and I got to goto the casinos for a few nights. My buddy was off playing roulette spiking 37:1 shots and I found myself in a 3/6 game at the Atlantis. The odd thing about this game was that it had a $1/$2 blind structure. It also had a half kill. The game was real good with loose players all over. The guy on my left (button) was real loose and was running really well too. The other guy in the hand (BB) was running even better but played a bit tighter. He had about average aggression and would probably make a small profit in these games. One of the limpers was odd as he would raise PF seemingly at random (like 15-20% of the hands) and then always check/raise or check/fold on the flop after he raised PF. He was stuck a good bunch. Assume loose/passive for the rest of the table.
Atlantis Reno 3/6 (10 handed) SB: $1 BB: $2 I have A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in CO. 2 limpers to me and I limp along. Button limps, SB folds and the BB checks. Five to the flop. Flop ($11): J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Check to me and I bet. Button and BB call. All others fold. Turn ($18): Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB bets and I raise. Button folds after thinking for a long time. BB calls. River ($40): Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB bets. I take a quick look at my cards and fold. BB shows his hand afterwards. How did I do? I'm not sure if I like it yet. Brad |

Re: ATo live hand
Well on PP 0.5/1 I'd surely call. Here I don't really know, but I would probably call.

Re: ATo live hand
First off, wouldn't 3/6 be better suited for the small stakes forum? I'll never consider 3/6 to be micro.
You're getting better than 7-1 on the river call. I've got to imagine your hand will be good or you'll chop often enough to warrant a call here. Your flop bet probably gives your opponent the idea his trip queens are good. If his aggression was "average" as you say, he would've raised you on the turn with a flush, knowing full well that if you had a straight, you probably wouldn't lay it down. I think making folds like this with better-than-average holdings in pots of this size in a heads-up situation isn't the way to go. |
