What\'s *your* Standard Deviation?
Thinking of writing a little article for the TwoPlusTwo magazine, this is a natural starting point . . .
So without further adieu, what's your SD? Micro-limit games only, of course. Round to the nearest whole number, please -- remember, talking about relatively full games (8-10 players) only. |

I want to know what poor sap (or maybe not so poor!) has 23BB/100 as his SD!

[/ QUOTE ] I'll refrain from commenting on my sappy-ness, but I'm showing a SD of 22.2BB/100 over my last 15k hands. I'm actually surprised that people are reporting such low standard deviations. Maybe I LAG it up too much |

Don't forget that your own looseness (especially post-flop) and your opponents' aggression levels are also primary drivers of this stat.

Re: What\'s *your* Standard Deviation?
I put in a vote at 13BB, but my SD is down around 12BB when I just look at 1/2. These games are so great to me. Yes, you do run into some tight tables, but if you practice just decent (not even good) table selection, you will find games with loose and PASSIVE players. These players are so incredibly passive in these 1/2 games that they can be manipulated at will. You can play your draws in the ideal ways. Get into these games if you haven't already and don't believe the hype about how tight they are. At nearly 20,000 hands I'm crushing them for nearly 5BB/100.

I want to know what poor sap (or maybe not so poor!) has 23BB/100 as his SD! [/ QUOTE ] My SD isn't quite that high. But for 11K hands at PP .5/1, I have an SD of 21BB/100 and win rate of 3BB/100. I'm reasonably aggressive, but not maniacal. So, what's the secret of getting my SD down while maintaining or improving on this win rate? I'm surprised at the low SDs I'm seeing in the survey results. I think my play has improved a lot over these 11K hands. Is there a way in PT to get an SD for, say, the last 5K hands rather than for all of them? |
