how do you get the most money from this hand?
8-handed 2-4 live game
i'm in the BB with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] MP raises to $10, CO calls. i call (i know, loose). MP is TAG, CO is LAG -- both are very solid players. i have a TAG image. the flop comes 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] i check, MP checks, CO checks. turn is 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] i check (planning to checkraise b/c i'm certain one of the two others have an ace), MP checks, CO checks... to my dismay. river is 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] i bet $40. MP calls. CO grumbles that he should've bet on the turn because he thinks he had a freeroll, and then he calls. MP shows A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] CO shows A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] i win with the 6. all three stack sizes were roughly even.. i get the feeling that if i opened on the turn, CO would've raised and i probably would've pushed... was that a better option? i was afraid of scaring them off in case neither had an ace. |

Well, you've got to realize that your opponent either has a hand or he doesn't and if he's got nothing, he's got nothing. I say that you should bet the turn, and if he has an A, string him along on the river when he's drawing dead rather than wait for 5th street to make a move.

bet the turn, but CO is definitely not raising.

You say the stacks are relatively even, but how big are they? $100, $200?
BTW, if they don't have aces, you are getting no action on the river or the turn, so you might as well bet out. |
