FSU,

Any reads on these players?

I know it sounds weak but I almost think that you are beaten here by a set of 7's. I would seriously think about laying it down given no read, especially with a smooth call + the all-in, it seems fairly likely that you are behind one of the opponents.

Another possible line would be to re-raise to $100 on the flop and then fold to a re-re-raise.

by great game I assume that there are some players who over play their hands so if he is one of those players that makes the game great you have to call.

other than, not particularly good? no, not really.

Yeah, my strenth showing turn bet, coupled with a cold call and a reraise all in, i thought either 77, 810, or maybe a lower two pair for the reraiser all in. i didnt really have a clue about MP, but his play looked like a J10 or Q10 to me.

I thought for a while and folded.

MP calls all in.

board:J972r

MP: QQ
LP: 79
Me:

River: Q

Me:

I was pissed and relived at the same time.

I think if I popped LP back on the flop, MP folds (maybe), LP calls, and I get the rest of his stack on the turn.

misplayed that one i think.

thanks guys,

Default tangent

you're relieved when the Q hits, but isn't it the case that if you'd called, the river might have been different? i thought party randomly generated the cards for each street independently, meaning you don't necessarily get the same board cards if things happen differently.

I'm not wild about either the call on the flop or the lead out bet on the turn.

I'm assuiming that the threat from the MP player is a set or an overpair and that the lp player is 2 pair, set, or straight based on preflop lack of action. The LP player is the deeper stack I think your goal on the flop is to put him to the test when he raises so you can find out then and there if you should bail or push. If I'm reading this right, the MP being the shorter stack you're likely to be willing to call him all in since he's less likely to have you beat with a straight and is more likely to have an overpair. He also has the shorter stack which lessens the damage if he has the set. If the LP player pushes in when you reraise him on the flop, I think you have to dump it here, he had the lower 2 pair in this case but he's just as likely to have the straight or a set.

That aside, the way you played it, I'm unsure why the raise on the turn when the blank hits. With that board, you can't stand a reraise all in from the lp player, it's just too likely that he has the set or a straight and with $275 you can't call if he pushes so I think you should try to get to the river as cheaply as possible and hope you can showdown cheaply or hit 1 of your 4 outs. Ideally, MP will push, LP will fold and you can call the shorter stacked MP hoping he has an OP not the set for a pot sized bet.

Haha, I've thought about this before too. Of course the results are irrelevant, but it's funny to think about it. Does anyone know for sure if the deck is pre shuffled or if they randomize it separately on each street?
