3rd Street Question.
Party Poker 3/6 stud, $1 bring in, .5 ante. Are you playing all live pairs with low- live kickers? Should you be prepared to fold these hands if you think its going to be raised behind you, and you have a lousy kicker? I realize this seems obvious, but it also seems that if you chuck these hands, you might be playing too tight. I also think it matters if your pair is hidden. I'm not sure if I'm playing to loose, cause once the bring in gets completed with these hands, you're implied odds are out the window. I would appreciate any help. Beerz |

Re: 3rd Street Question.
I think the ante is too low to justify playing low pairs with low kickers up front.

Re: 3rd Street Question.
you have it generally right I think. I wouldnt necessarily fold if i were worried about it being raised however since even if it is raised there might be four callers before it gets back to you and you arent folding there if you can see a card with a live hand.

Re: 3rd Street Question.
I've been doing well in this game...and playing any pair if I think I can get to 4th for a bringin
I dont think there is a big difference between hidden/split pairs because most of the opponents will call if you pair your door card or not. I dump on 5th if I don't get any help with the low pair low kicker hands...or 4th if I face a bet and didn't improve |

Re: 3rd Street Question.
in this type of game even if you make 2 pair, it probably wont be good. you are really just drawing to a set.

Re: 3rd Street Question.
Against loose, passive players, I think it is OK to limp in and see what happens. If there is significant danger of someone completing behind you, dump these hands, but how great is that risk in these games? Against better players, you can't play these hands as readily, as it's more likely to be raised behind you, and they're not as likely to pay you off the whole way if you hit your door card.

Re: 3rd Street Question.
I usually play ala SCSFAP and position with these hands.
I need good relative position to the raiser to call a completion. 3 oc's behind I usually dump it. unless 2 are in the hands of passive bad or weak tight players. |
