Default Congrats GWB

Congrats GWB I'll give you another chance even though I didn't vote for you myself. It is time to put this country onto the right track. I hope you can succeed. Here are few things that really need to be fixed.

1. IRAQ - You claim you have a plan lets see it work. I hope it works.

2. The Budget - Please get this thing under control. You have control of the House and the Senate. USE YOUR LINE ITEM VOTE POWER.

I have other issues that I hope he works out but I gotta get back to my game.

Line item veto? The president doesn't have that power. G.H.W.B. asked for it and was denied. All or nothing. (Does anyone else smell pork?)

Here is what i ask:

1) Please repeal the patriot act, it is blatently unconstitutional.

2) Stop encouraging faith based politics.

3) Come up with a plan for iraq or a reason for being in iraq...

4) Focus a bit more on domestic issues, and by domestic issues i dont mean just cut taxes and leave it at that.

I know i am one of the "wacko liberals" on this site, but i'm not too sore of Bush winning, i didnt like kerry anyways, bush has 4 more years to convince me he's a good president, hes got some work to do, but hopefully he can come through.

Default Wow!..We actually agree on something..

2. Yes, Bush needs to use his veto pen.

3. Nope, it takes 60 votes to control the senate. Dascle and company played hardball and kept a lot of legistlation bottled up. ***IF*** the republicans controlled the Presidentcy, 100% of the house, and only 59% of the Senate, then the Democrats could STILL stop ALL legistlation.....

Yes he does. How do you think Clinton balanced the budget?

The parts the are unconstitutional(I took your spelling but I'm not sure it's right) will be decided by the courts.

I think the House and Senate negotiated a budget and the president signed it into law.

Clinton tried to utilize a line-item veto, but it was then declared unconstitutional. It's all or nothing my friend... maybe why Bush never used a veto during his first 4 years?

Line item veto is definitely not constitutional (neither through case law nor through a common sense examination of the constitution).

I'm a libertarian that voted for Bush this time around (not in 2000 though), but I definitely agree he has to find a way to do SOMETHING about the exploding budget problems. I'm cautiously optimistic he will this time around...the first time I kind of get the feeling he was just trying to get reelected. This time around, he doesn't have that concern Maybe he'll even have the political will to actually cut spending for a change - something that no Republicans OR Democrats have shown any inclination to do in the past.
