Default i need help interpreting sets............against my two pair.....

i have been beaten by a set against my two pair in the last four tourneys i have played...i have gone all in when two pair were either flopped or gotten on the turn only to be called out by a set...my question is....is 'all in ' a good play with two pair (knowing only someone witha set or big draw will call)....or should i check them out, make a pot sized bet till the end...(implying i should fold if there is alot of rasing)....any thoughts on how to proceed would be helpful...statiscally i should be winning these..but even with reasonalbe pot odds...i'm getting hammered...bad luck...or bad playing...all thoughts welcomed...

it is impossible to give general advice for "how to play 2 pair". Flopping A K 2 in a raised pot when you have AK is much different from flopping 789 mono-suit in an unraised pot when you have 78. I hope you can see why. Post some specific hands.
