Aces put to test
UB $25 buy-in NL. I ($25) on the button with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Main villain ($38) in the hand is UTG+1. My second orbit, villain hasn't done anything of note.
Preflop: Villain bets pot ($0.85). CO calls. I reraise the pot ($3.75 to go). Villain calls, CO mucks. Flop (about $8.50): 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain checks. I bet $5. I didn't want to bet the full pot because I felt it would commit me to calling a raise all-in, which generally is a losing proposition with an overpair in these games in my experience. Villain calls. I think he could have KK, QQ, AKd or possibly AQ, but this is a somewhat limited read. I doubt me calls me with JJ or TT, but it's possible, I guess. Turn (about $18.50): T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Villain puts me all-in. Comments? |

Re: Aces put to test
I would pretty much insta-call this. I don't see him playing this way with top set on a board that isn't scary at all. I like your 5$ flop bet, but not because "I don't want to get tied down to the hand." You act like your aces are plagued. If you're always afraid of the nuts, you'll never make money.
