Is Rehnquist hiding the seriousness of his illness?
Rehnquist cancer shows worrying signs, experts say
He's in the hospital for Thyroid cancer, but there are rumors that it is more serious than has been reported (based on the unusual procedures he has already gone through). The winner of this election is going to pick a new chief justice. |

Re: Is Rehnquist hiding the seriousness of his illness?
Well, he's not just going to pick a new justice.
The winner of this election will get to nominate a new justice whenever one of the current justices can/will no longer serve. That nomination must be approved by the Senate in order for the nominee to get a seat. Also, one of the other 8 judges will be nominated for Chief Justice, and then he/she must be approved by the Senate as well. |

Re: Is Rehnquist hiding the seriousness of his illness?
I've heard that thyroid cancer is one of the most treatable kinds of cancer.
To those who believe in term limits: should there be a limit to the length of time a Supreme Court justice can serve as well? |

I tend to side with having no term limits. I dont have time to get into the specifics right now. But it is an interesting point to consider. |
