Runner Runner Royal - what are the odds?
This was a fun hand for me to say the least...
Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $5. MP folds, CO calls, Button folds, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG (poster) calls, CO calls, SB calls. Flop: (8 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) Hero bets, UTG calls, CO folds, SB folds. Turn: (5 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, UTG calls. River: (7 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero 3-bets, UTG caps, Hero calls. Final Pot: 15 BB I'm wondering tho what were the odds of me getting this royal? I think I've read that the odds of getting a royal with a 5 card deal are something like 650000:1, but what about in a 7 card game like holdem, especially having to hit runner runner. |

Re: Runner Runner Royal - what are the odds?
Well, on the flop u had 2 cards to come with 47 left in the deck. 2 in the deck will make the royal...So the prob of the runner runner is 1/C(47,2) = .000925, or odds of 1080:1...Boy u got lucky!

Re: Runner Runner Royal - what are the odds?
(2/47) * (1/46) = .000929 or about .929 times in 1,000 or about 1075:1 'ish.
You play gooooood. Of course, you did have 13 nut outs on the river. |

Re: Runner Runner Royal - what are the odds?
here's the other part of the question: what're the odds of ending up with a royal flush when you've got AKs in the blind if you stay in the hand the whole time. the answer is (C(47,2))/(C(50,5))= 1/1960
