Default Being a fan is pathetic

This forum is dying, and it's all because of everyone's fascination with people they've seen on TV.

You know those shots of arena rock shows, where the moronic inferno of "fans" are all reaching out to touch their beloved rock star, their faces all contorted with the love that can, apparently, only be felt for someone they have never met or spoken to before?

That's about how I picture this forum anymore. Right now, Paul Phillips is Scott Stapp, the lead singer for horrible arena rock monstrosity Creed, leather pants and a pose of defiance and overblown self-importance.

Annie Duke, way back a month ago when she was still posting here, I guess was sort of like, uh, Joni Mitchell, sitting on her stool onstage, spouting profundities. You all are the tie-dyed minions, pathetically stoned on her knowledge.

Barry Greenstein--well, he's just Barry Greenstein.

Anyway, there's no good way for this forum to be of any real use if you all don't stop acting like gushing teenaged girls at a freakin Avril Levigne concert. I can just see you all with your little punky streaked hair. From the front row, you....can.....almost........touch.........her.

Look, dude... you compared Paul Phillips to a member from Creed. Come on man, let's not say things we cant take back. That's just wrong. You compare anybody to Creed... it's just a terrible thing to say.

You're right--I went too far.

Maybe Eminem? Or maybe that Jamiroquoi guy. The hat, you know.

OK, I'll stop.

Rushmore, cumman man, this could have been condemnation of WHAM! not Creed, you are showing your youth.

LOL!

Thanks for laugh, I needed it!

Without PAYING fans, we'd be living in a very boring place.

Yeah I agree IDOL worship is out of hand, I forget what notable comedian said this, but it was a great line:

'Religion is like Santa Claus, once you reach a certain age you should really have out grown it.' I apply this to other things as well....

This is the televised tournament forum, but it's being wrecked by people's reactions to what they see on television?

Remove the question mark from your response, and it perfectly paraphrases my post.

Excellent job!

OK, good, I understood you correctly.

You seem to consider it bad that people are reacting to television poker in the television poker forum. I find this strange.

The only thing worse than sycophantic fans are self righetous people complaining about sycophantic fans.
