I play this the same way with the exception of a cap on the river - though there aren't many hands that you do beat that would come alive with that river card, I still don't back down with my flush - I think it's probably good half the time.

That having been said, in the heat of battle, I probably do the same thing you did and just call his 3-bet...but I get scared pretty easily at the table it seems.

Bison is going to be getting at least 10:1 to try to hit his five-outer (not even counting his backdoor draw), with all of these outs looking good unless he's already up against two-pair. Folding would be icky.

With that turn card a checkraise from somewhere seems fairly likely. Plus it's not likely that all six will call and some of his outs might not be good. Take the free card there.

I disagree, no hand is really coming alive with that river card. The only possibility is two pair, and I imagine they would just call the river raise by Bison, not re-raise.

A higher flush is more than 50% likely in this situation, I think.
